Cindy Mardyn
Cindy is an NCCP level 2 trained coach, with over 30 years of experience. She has taught all levels and disciplines of skating, from pre-school / learn to skate & Canskate through to competitive figure skating. While her passion is with figure skating she also coaches hockey and ringette skating, power and glide skills.
Cindy grew up in the Lower Mainland and started skating at the age of 4. She acquired a triple Gold level achievement in the disciplines of Figures, Freeskate and Ice Dance and competed at the provincial level in Junior ladies. Cindy also competed and coached Synchronized Skating at a National level.
Cindy’s philosophy is, “practice how you want to place or perform”. Along with work ethic, she believes basic skating skills and fundamentals are critical in achieving personal and high performance goals.

Michelle Turner
Michelle Turner is joining us as a CanSkate coach this year. Michelle grew up in the Lower Mainland and skated with North Delta’s Sungod Figure Skating Club from 1977 to 1984. Before stepping away from the sport, she had achieved Senior Bronze in the disciplines of Free Skate and Figures and was working on completing her Senior Bronze dance. In 1984, she competed at the 1984 Canadian Precision Skating Championship in London, Ontario, as a member of the Sungod Sunnettes Precision Skating teams.
A lifelong love of figure skating brought Michelle back to the ice in 2024, when she joined the 100 Mile House Skating Club adult program. After two seasons back on the ice, she recognized an opportunity to help support and expand the club’s coaching team and began working toward her coaching qualifications.
Michelle believes that strong fundamentals and a positive attitude are essential to achieving personal skating goals. She is excited to share her experience and enthusiasm for skating with skaters of all ages and abilities and looks forward to helping skaters build their skills and confidence while developing a lasting enjoyment of the sport.”
