The 100 Mile House & District Skating club strives to offer a safe, community based environment for individuals of all abilities to thrive on and off the ice in their love of skating!
Our Mission
The 100 Mile House & District Figure Skating Club is a non-profit, volunteer-led organization dedicated to the development of all skaters. We strive to offer a safe, community-based environment where individuals of all ages and abilities can thrive on and off the ice. Whether for fun, fitness, or competitive achievement, we provide a solid foundation in the fundamentals of skating.
50 Years of Skating Excellence
Founded over 50 years ago, our club has been a cornerstone of the South Cariboo community since the early 1970s. We are proud members of Skate Canada and operate out of the South Cariboo Recreation Centre in 100 Mile House, BC.
Our Programs
We serve approximately 160 skaters through a wide range of nationally-standardized programs taught by NCCP-certified professional coaches:
- CanSkate: Canada’s flagship learn-to-skate program for beginners of all ages.
- STARSkate: Developed for those transitioning into figure skating, focusing on skills, ice dance, and artistic performance.
- Junior & Senior Academy: Specialized training for skaters showing potential for competitive excellence.
- Power Skating: High-energy sessions designed to improve speed and agility for hockey and ringette players.
Community & Governance
As a registered non-profit society, we are governed by a dedicated Board of Directors. Our operations are fueled by the passion of our volunteers and the financial support of our community and the Province of British Columbia.
We respectfully acknowledge that our club operates within the unceded traditional territory of the Secwépemc Nation (Secwepemcúĺecw), and we are grateful for the hospitality of the Tsq’escen.
